How does a “Firefly Team” registration work compared with a solo runner?

Simply register as a unit (4 people or more) rather than as an individual. Pick a cool team name and you are good to go. You can allow others to join your team at a later date or set it to private. There is no “relay” component and team members can finish together as a unit or separately.

What is packet pick-up?

Packet pick-up is where all participants must “check in” and pick up their packet. Your packet includes your race bib with safety pins, timing chip (10K race only), awesome shirt (men’s) or tank (women’s), LED Item, and goodies from sponsors. If you miss the packet pick up on the designated dates/times you will be required to pay $5 cash to pick up your items on race day.

Can I pick up my friend’s packet?
Yes, but you will need one of the following two items:

1. A copy of the confirmation email. (Preferable)

2. A copy of the registrant’s ID.
*Race packets and materials must be picked up on-site. They will not be shipped to participants.

Can I walk the course?
Yes. Many people walk the 5K course in about an hour. If a 10K option is available for your city, this distance category is reserved for runners only.

Is there a time limit?
Yes, there is a 1.5 hour time limit to complete the course.

How will my finishing time be recorded?
This chip registers your time as you move across a special sensor mat at the start/finish line. Timing is only included in the 10K registration.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, however due to safety concerns we ask that you please move towards the back of the line. We encourage you to decorate them ;)

Can I run with my dog?

Sorry, not a good idea. This is not only for the safety of participants but also for your dog. Although cute, you would not want your pet to turn into a pug or wiener dog if he or she didn’t start out that way.

What are the race age categories?

Categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & over

What are the details for the costume contest?

Dress up in your most creative costume, this is your chance to go all out and show off your creative side, illuminated or not! Running in your costume is not required. Stand near the stage when the contest begins. Along with the help of the crowd, either a panel of judges or the DJ will determine the winner. Only registered participants may compete and the race bib will be used to verify entry. Prizes are awarded for 1st-3rd place Adult/Child.

Will the event be canceled if there is foul weather?

Firefly Run events will proceed unless the weather condition is extreme, we have no control over acts of nature. If conditions are safe for everyone involved we will proceed with the race. IF the conditions are extreme we will first attempt to reschedule the race, this sometimes does not work in our favor due to many factors. IF the race has to be canceled, then you will be moved over to a virtual run, your items will be made available for you to receive. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN, this is due to the fact that we need to pre-order supplies in advance.

What if I can’t attend the race anymore?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer any refunds under any circumstance; this is due to the fact that we need to pre-order supplies in advance. You may transfer your registration for a transfer fee of $15 or we may also offer to send you your packet you would be required to pay the mailing fee.

Where are the water stations, restrooms, parking and course map?

Water stations are located near start/finish line and mid-point. Frequently check your location’s page for the latest updates.

How can my company sponsor a group to participate in your race?

We can accept a one-time payment either by check or credit card and issue you however many vouchers you’d like to purchase to distribute to your office. They can then go on our website and register without needing any further payment information since the registration has been paid for by your company.
